Heritage Projects
We work with consultants such as RMA planners, architects, and structural engineers on the sustainable use and adaptive reuse of heritage places.
An example of our work includes heritage advice for the seismic upgrade and refurbishment of the former Naenae Post Office which was adapted for reuse as Te Mako – Naenae Community. The building is a Category 1 Historic Place and re-opened in June 2024.
The work included structural strengthening of the building and clocktower, refurbishment of the original aluminium windows, construction of a community kitchen, and the reinstatement of a replica mural – originally designed by Guy Ngan.
